Revision of what I look for in a girl.

  • Nov. 18th, 2008 at 3:59 PM

This time, in order of most important to least important.

#1. No smoking
#2. Kind, caring, trustworth, compassionate, selfless personality.  - Alisha didn't.
#3. No drug usage.
#4. Pretty face.
#5. A large, beautiful bubble butt.
#6. Not fat, at most 160 - 180 lbs. for a 5' 8" girl.
#7. No fake breasts/butt
#8. Intelligent. - Sara wasn't.
#9. Should be SUPER touchy-feely.  Should want to cuddle and holds hands every second we're together. - Alisha wasn't.
#10. Should genuinely enjoy playing video games.  Especially violent, bloody, M-rated fighting video games.
#11. Should like anime, especially violent anime.
#12. Should genuinely enjoy violent action movies and genuinely dislike chick-flicks and dramas.
#13. Should like lots of music.  Except country and rap, should hate those two, but like all others.
#14. Should be in a job that makes at least $40,000 a year. - Sara wasn't.
#15. Should be playful and childish and like to play pretend.  I know, really childish, but its important to me.
#16. Should not like to drink. - Sara did, but only occasional sips of wine.
#17. Should be natural.  Preferably no perfume, make-up, or shaving.
#18Should be someone that "can kick my ass."  Not immensely strong, but someone that could win in a fight against me 50-60% of the time.
#19. Should be a furry. - Alisha wasn't.
#20. Should be about my height or slightly taller than me.
#21. Should like animals.
#22. Should want no more than 1-2 kids.  Preferably none.
#23. Should be somewhat religious.  Not super-religious, but someone who practices. - Alisha wasn't.
#24. Should want to have pets.
#25. Should be pale.  Little if any tan to their skin.
#26. Should know how to cook.
#27. Should like nature to some extent.
#28. Should have brown or red hair. - Alisha didn't.

Alisha = Only girl I've dated that I actually loved (out of the 2 I've dated).  -5
Sara = The girl I loved but never got a chance with.  -3

I guess that shows why it didn't work out with Alisha.  Someone that doesn't fit my #2 and #8 requirements really isn't compatible at all.  If you are incompatible with more than one requirement in someone's 10 most important, that really is a problem, and especially an even bigger problem if they lack anything in your top 5.
Sara would've been a much better match, but sadly, she didn't want to be.

lol, mother got all pissed off when I said that I wasn't going to try anymore to find a girl today.  *shrugs*   "What about being lonely, or people to talk to?"  *shrugs*  If it means going out and having to get to know people for months just to know if I can ask them to allow me to spend money on them and give them all of my free time, that is just plain too much work.

In other new, getting 6 new games soon.  Assassin's Creed, FEAR, and The Orange Box, along with Folklore, Dead Space and one other $60 game.  Not sure which though.  One of: Grand Theft Auto IV, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Saint's Row 2, Soul Calibur IV, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Uncharted, or Mercenaries 2: World in Flames.

Budgiting my monies...

  • Sep. 7th, 2008 at 8:54 PM

So much to buy, so little monies...

So, I have somewhere around $3400 dollars, and a bunch I want to buy.

I need to keep at least $1000 of that $3400 in there and not touch it.

That leaves me with $2400 to spend.  Now, there's a skunk fursuit to buy...  That'll cost around $2000 minimum.  Though, only $600-$900 until 2010 most likely.

Next up, we have a skunk suit for Halloween, one I've thought about getting many a Halloweens past, cost of $340.

After that, we have a 360, cost of $300 + around $20 tax, making it $320.

Finally, games.  I'm probably getting around 5-6 games by the end of this school year.  That will run $40, $40, $40, $50, $60, and $60.  $310.

Total of $2970....

I need stuff to cut back on...

Anything green, I would highly advise, and anything red, I would highly advise staying away from. I'd also like to take a little time to point out a couple of the 7.00's and 8.00's in particular, as most of the animes fall into that range as a high 7/a low 8 (not depicted, since these are approximate scores) are what I deem to be an average anime.

Black Cat - A very high action anime with great characters, awesome abilities, and a lot of twists and turns in the plot.
Black Lagoon - Another high-action anime, well made characters with very gritty, shady, realistic scenarios. Think Cowboy Bebop but present-day and more mature
Blue Gender - A lot like an anime version of Starship Troopers if most of humanity had already been wiped out in that movie; just made A LOT better than that movie could ever have hoped to have been.
E's Otherwise - Telekinesis, and lots of it. :P Plenty of hardcore action and mental power fight scenes. An absolutely wonderful anime.
Evangelion - Some of the best mecha ever to grace anime along with a brilliant story that comes to a fantastic conclusion and great fights.
Fullmetal Alchemist - While not one of my personal favorites, it has an undeniable charm and plenty of great action to keep you from looking elsewhere to other animes while in the middle of it. A very well-made series.
Gungrave - Can get rather boring and tedious at times, and you find yourself wanting to see more of the present, less of the past, but what it does do it does remarkably well with great characters, great story, and very nice gun battles.
Inuyasha - Some episodes can get repetitive, but overall it keeps a nice pace going through the show with great characters and good action. Also, it has THE BEST character ever to appear in an anime, Sesshomaru, and one of the best villians ever in Naraku.
Kyoushoku Soukou Guyver (2005) - Unbelievably awesome monster designs with very cool weapons and great, gory fight scenes make this one stand out. You'll find yourself wishing it was much longer when it comes to an end.
Ninja Scroll TV - Toned down quite a bit from the movie, but still full up to it's eyeballs in blood and gore with wonderful, long running battles and a pretty good story.
Omnyou Taisenki - Kind of kiddy at parts, but the monsters are all awesome with great abilities, and just a dash of cuteness. :P The story also has some very nice twists and turns once you get past the halfway point.
Project ARMs - Very nice anime with plenty of high-energy fights one right after another and very cool abilites for the characters as well.
Samurai 7 - Good story and plenty of samurai with very very exciting swordfights throughout the entire show.
Scryed - Decidedly average at times, the characters and their very different and very cool powers, along with entertaining fights makes the anime stand out from others.
Slayers - Very good anime that can drag every once in a while, but won't for more than a couple of episodes before picking back up with its very well done stories, good fight scenes, and mostly well-made characters.
Sousei no Aquarion - Another very good mecha anime. Wonderful characters, great mecha, a very enthralling story, and very nice fights.
The Melody of Oblivion - A very surreal, trippy anime, but very well-made. Lots of good action and great characters with interesting abilites and a very well-made story.
Trigun - An anime you can watch over and over again. Great fights, great characters, great story, not really anything bad about the show at all.
Weiss Kruze - Four guys who are florists by day, and assassins by night. Great idea, great characters, awesome fights and a well done story with a good eventual ending.
Wolf's Rain - Not many fights to really speak of, but the characters are very well made and the story is fantastic.

And, just cause I feel like it, and it's my LJ, my top twenty favorites in order of the 100 I have seen:
#1.  The Big O
#2.  Yu Yu Hakusho
#3.  X
#4.  Death Note (Bleach if counting non-finished animes)
#5.  Rurouni Kenshin
#6.  Basilisk: The Kouga Ninja Scrolls
#7.  Gantz
#8.  Baccano!
#9.  Witch Hunter Robin
#10. Samurai Champloo
#11. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
#12. Saiyuki
#13. Saint Seiya
#14. Yugo the Negotiator
#15. Cowboy Bebop
#16. Claymore
#17. Hellsing
#18. Boogiepop Phantom
#19. Bokura no
#20. Naruto

Perfection... or damn close.

  • May. 3rd, 2008 at 9:52 PM

Update to the last post, I found out she can cook, so that just leaves one unknown and two small negatives out of my whole list. That is pretty damn good. She is just so... perfect. If I can't get her, I think I'm flat out giving up all together. There's no way I'll ever find another girl in this world as smart, beautiful, fun and perfectly suited as she is...

On another note, you will listen to this song and you WILL love it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waRtcBy_GMI

She said yes

  • Apr. 25th, 2008 at 2:17 PM

So, I just asked out a girl who I've been attracted to for the entire semester and she said yes.  Haven't set a day for a date yet, but we're going to talk about it.  She fits most of all my requirements too:

Physical Features:
Race: Caucasian or Asian
Conplection: Pale, little if any tan.
Hair length: Don't care
Hair Color: Red or Brown (No Blonds allowed)
Eye Color: Don't care
Body Type: On the slender side. Not skinny per-say, but not fat. 120-160lbs. for 5' 8" sounds about right.
Height: About my height, maybe a little taller.
Strength: I'd like "someone who can kick my ass." Not immensely strong, but someone that could have a 50-60% chance of beating me in a fight.
Rack: Don't care
Rear: Preferably large, dis-proportionally large to their body size.

Personality:
General Attributes: Kind, Caring, Compassionate, Open, Trustworthy, Selfless
Should Enjoy/Like: Music, Movies, TV, Video Games, and Animals
Playing: Should still have the childish like to play pretend and play games.
Smoking: Fuck no. A big, big, big FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! to everyone out there that smokes. 100% Non-negotiable.
Drinking: It is alright, as long as it isn't a big thing with them. I GUARANTEE any night they are drunk, I *WILL NOT* be sleeping in the same room as them. I am about as comfortable around drunk people as I would be around a wild king cobra and I would never share a bed with one.
Drugs: That's a BIG fuck no! 100% Non-negotiable.
Religious: Eh, I'd like someone who practices, but I don't want someone who is completely consumed by their religion.
Pets: Should want to have pets.
Nature: It would be nice if they liked nature somewhat, but if they don't it's no big loss.

Others:
Money: Must make at least $40,000 a year.
Kids: Shouldn't want more than 1-2, if even that many. Would prefer 1-0 myself.
Random: Should wear socks. Weird, I know, but seeing all the people on campus in flip-flops and no socks pisses me off. She should wear socks all year round, preferably crew or longer, cause those short ones are damn ugly.
Cooking: Should know somewhat how to cook, just cause I don't really and if one of us doesn't know how, we'll be going hungry.
Location: Should want to live in Seattle or in Washington state somewhere.

Orange = somewhat doesn't fit requirement
Red = doesn't fit requirement
Green = don't know if she fits the requirement

Shit

  • Apr. 23rd, 2008 at 4:12 PM

I feel like shit. Not physically, but mentally. I think I'm going to throw up, my stomach, my chest, it's feeling... twisted. I've been thinking and thinking but I can never come to an answer, all it does it twist everything more. I don't know what to do, I think I need to talk. But I don't know if that'll untwist everything, or just transfer it... fuck you conservation of energy...

I have found the perfect image to describe this week:

Cut for graphicnesses )

This is all.

...The End

  • Feb. 12th, 2008 at 7:07 PM

I have been musing as of late over what may occur within the confines of our country in the coming years. Ever since **EDITED** I have proclaimed it to be **EDITED**. Everyone argued with me, saying that I was just some ignorant **EDITED**. **EDITED** was having a couple problems, but **EDITED**? And look at what **EDITED**. Silence yourself and recognize that **EDITED** is doing fine.

Bull shit. Well, as it turns out, I was right. It is and has been one of the worst in out country's history. **EDITED**, the **EDITED**, and **EDITED** cut left and right. There is one simple fact that I have come to upon considering all the facts; our country is simply incapable of withstanding another consecutive, Republican administration.

That isn't the end of it though. Let's look into the future for a moment. For our first stop, we will focus on the economy. If you pay attention, you will notice some startling elements pointing to changes in the near future. The current recession we are in, the constantly fluctuating market, not horrible by themselves, but very problematic and if not corrected soon, could cause major problems. The value of out money is already declining, with Canada, who was had currency valued much lower than ours for decades, now possessing currency of a value in which we get the short end of the stick when buying anything there.

Not only that, there is the housing market. Historically, the housing market has increased in value around 25% every 10 years. Meaning any house you bought, ten years from then, you would make 1/4 of what you paid as pure profit if you sold it. Not today. If you sold a house you bought 10 years ago today, provided someone would even pay you what it was worth as they can get houses for a steal, you would only get around a 10-15% profit. And that is going to shrink even quicker now. The cost of houses cannot continue to increase because at some point, no one will be able to afford houses. A suburban, 1-floor house in nowhere Indiana would cost $4-500,000 soon and who would be able to afford that? Maybe the top 10% of people financially in the country.

On top of that, is the federal reserve, which is where money from hugely wealthy people is stored, and these people basically run the stock market with that money. Because of this, these people have the power to crash the stock market and bring everything to a halt, sending prices for everything back to the 1930's in order for the country to keep working. It is almost guaranteed to happen. Now that the economy is so weakened, inflation is so high, and prices for goods, cars, houses continue to climb as they have, it is only a matter of time before these factors all hit the fan and the only way for the country to continue is to reset. Having shuffled these thoughts around in my head, I am 99.9%+ sure that we (by which I mean those in my generation) will see a depression in our lifetime, akin to that of The Great Depression. Now, just for comparison, I will point out to you that Rome was also suffering from this same problem within the years leading to it's collapse.

Beyond that is our military. This war on terror is a joke. It has produced no true results and has only served to weaken our country. Republican leaders in Washington warn that China is arming and increasing their military strength. Well guess what, what are we going to do if that military decides out of the blue that they want to strike us? The answer, we can't do a damned thing. We have hardly any soldiers stationed within our boarders, instead they are spread out across the globe in many different countries. So thinly, that they do not represent a truly formidable force in any of them. On top of that, when you do research on Vietnam, the similarities between that war and the war in Iraq are so close it is eerie. Almost every single aspect of the Iraq war mirrors Vietnam to a tee, except for the bombing Cambodia part... but guess what, Iran looks pretty good. Vietnam was one big quagmire of soldier deaths and lost US funds, and that is exactly what Iraq is. That huge surplus we had 8 years ago, well, now we are TRILLIONS of dollars in debt, most of which is purely thanks to this war. Now, for another history lesson; who had their military stretched dangerously thin across the globe in the past? That's right, Rome only years before it's fall.

For these reasons we must have a liberal leader to counteract the damage that has been done to our country or all hope may be lost. I do not really like either Clinton or Obama. Clinton is too conservative for my tastes and Obama is woefully inexperienced to do anything. However, since I can't back one based on my beliefs, since neither represent them, I want whoever can win to be the nominee, because there is no alternative. If they don't win, the game is over. Because of this, Clinton winning and picking Obama as her running mate would be the best possible outcome, as she has the correct experience, and Obama could still generate all the votes that he has been for the team. This combination isn't just a hopeful one; this combination NEEDS to happen. For the love of God; for the good of our country; for the livelihood of us and our children; for the sake of the world; this combination of Hillary and Obama MUST happen. I truly, truly fear we will not get a second chance if it doesn't, and this thought worries me greatly.

Beyond party politics though, there are still more threats to ourselves and our country. Proliferation of countries with nuclear weapons, Scientology, the Americo, PACs and corporations, and out-sourcing.
Nuclear weapons are dangerous for the obvious reasons. Once certain crazy countries like North Korea or Iran obtain them, that is a serious problem on a global scale. Oh, we will just go in and prevent it? Don't think so. China will protect North Korea and Russia has sided with protecting Iran, even providing them with weaponry not too long ago. The tension on that side of the world is so thick that the slightest twinge could make it snap, and if that tension snaps, we are headed straight for World War III. Russia and Iran attacking Israel, Israel attacking Iran and Pakistan, China and North Korea attacking Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. And on top of all that, if we have a republican president at the time, not only will they not abide by the isolationism policies that saved us and allowed us to have great victories by using our full force in both WWI and WWII, but we'll be in the middle of hundreds of other mini-conflicts across the globe with no soldiers to send over which the leaders will decide must be done because Republican mis-guided ideology believes we must police the world, even though all signs point to that being our nation's downfall. So, a draft will be instituted obviously and we will all be sent into the biggest war ever, not to mention a full-blown nuclear one.

Scientology is another problem, though not caused be any party. They simply have a death-grip on our government because they possess great amounts of money and the longer they are allowed to grow, the more and more entwined they will become in our government until the point, which will be soon, where they are overtly, and behind the scenes, directly deciding what laws in our country are passed, what leaders are elected, and what the populous in general should and shouldn't be doing.

Next up is the Americo. Many people haven't heard of this, but the plates for it have been made, and there are rumors that go as far as saying that some have already been printed and are being stored in preparation. The Americo is essentially like the Euro, where the economies of Canada, America, and Mexico will all be combined and printed under this one currency. Combining our economy with Mexico is the single worse thing we could possibly do. Their economy is horrible, and even if Canada's is now a little better than our own, it still would not off-set the damage that the Mexican economy would do to our own if they were joined. Yet another crushing blow to our economy.

PACs and corporations are dangerous for the same reasons. They are so tightly entwined in our government that they essentially make or break ALL policy with their money. If we ever hope for our country to be great again, these people have to be stopped and stopped now. Those like the cigarette lobbies and corporations that possess so much money that the government themselves is held hostage by them. The government cannot do anything to the cigarette companies because they fear what would happen if our economy lost that monetary stimulus, no matter how deadly and corrupt the item and company are respectively. Or Walmart, one of the worst corporations of them all, which leads to the final point.

Out-sourcing is one of the biggest problems occurring today. Can't find a job? Got fired due to massive layoffs? It was probably because your job is moving over to China or India where they can pay people to do what you do for a lot, lot less. Even or X-rays are now outsourced to India. Someone X-rays you, sends it via the internet to India, where some Indian technician looks at it and decides what is wrong, sending the image and a diagnosis back here via the internet. One main cause of outsourcing in departments like manufacturing is companies like Walmart. Walmart, to sell items at a lower price, demands that any manufacturer that sells to them, sell to them at a lower price. If a company cannot do that, Walmart will not buy from them. If Walmart will not buy from you, having grown to the largest supplier in the US, your business is finished. So, most businesses will shift to China or India where they can use slave-level labor, paying them next to nothing to work so that they can then sell their products to Walmart at the prices Walmart demands, creating less and less jobs in America for people.

Beyond that is the fact that we will be unable to afford decent health/life insurance when we grow older, we will not get retirements, we will not have social security, we will not be able to survive. It really looks like this may be coming up on...

So, girls...

  • Sep. 11th, 2007 at 6:29 PM

So, I compiled a complete list of what I'd be looking for if I was ever able to obtain a girlfriend:

So, looking at all that, that's why I'm probably never going to find a girl. *shrugs* Whatever.

I didn't brick it!!!!

  • Jul. 31st, 2007 at 3:09 PM

So, I bought a PS2 flip-top casing a few days ago. It's basically a top-loading case that allows you to insert discs from the top instead of using the disc tray.

This allows you to play discs that a PS2 normally won't allow you to play. Some use it for less that legitimate purposes; I wanted it so that I could play Japanese games on my PS2. So, it's relatively simply to install. You unscrew the top, unscrew the top of the DVD tray and put the new top on. The only bad part it a silver ribbon inside the system, a Power/Reset button harness. Basically, if you pinch it, or puncture it, your PS2 is history.

The really bad part is putting the top back on. It is so tense and so frustrating.

(Pictures from http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm )

It isn't very obvious in the pictures, it may be because that's an older model than mine and the harness may be made of cellophane instead, but mine was made of aluminum... and that is fucking hard to manipulate in a very small space when you can't actually bend it. It was freaking insane trying to get it in and I was attempting to put the top back on for almost half an hour for fear of pinching the harness. After I got it back on, I plugged it in and started it up... and nothing came on the television screen.

Oh, shit, I fucked up my PS2. But then I realized that it was on the TV, and the component cables were plugged into the DVD player. I turned it on the DVD player, tried to turn it on again, and it worked! I didn't brick my PS2! And now I can play Japanese games! Even though they cost $65 a piece. -.-

Well, not much going on. More later.

Ok, I guess the post could be a little more substantial than that. Went to a bunch of concerts over the last 11 days, 8 concerts to be exact, during the Summer Celebration. Most of them were pretty good:

June 28th - Weird Al Yankovic - An interesting concert to say the least. He played most of his popular songs with the funny "Al TV" interviews playing between every couple songs where he "interviewed" various celebrities by cutting up an interview they had done and matching it to questions he was asking. While they were playing he would do costume changes and the like. Seeing Weird all in a Spongebob T-shirt, boxers and a pink tu-tu is pretty scary... but it was still funny. He played "White and Nerdy" too, while driving around the stage on a Segway scooter. :P

June 29th - Lifehouse & Goo Goo Dolls - Both bands put on good concerts. Lifehouse rocked hard for their entire set and Goo Goo Dolls did the same. They played for a pretty long time and both played all of their hits interspersed with other lesser known songs. Both sounded really good as well. Met up with Steve while I was down at that one, we'll probably hang a bit the rest of the summer.

June 30th - Kenny Wayne Shepard (this I actually didn't get to go to, sadly) - I wanted to go to this one. Everyone, sing it with me now, o/` Blue on black, tears on the river; a push or a shove, it don't mean much; joker on jack, match on a fire, cold on ice is a dead man's touch... o/` Anyway, but yeah, my best friend invited me over to his house to spend the night that weekend, so I did that instead. I really wanted to go to the concert, but I still had a blast. Some chick he works with was having her 21st birthday party and had invited him to it on that same day. We drove by the house, cause he wanted to see who was there and figured everyone would be in back of the house and we could just drive by... didn't happen, lol. She was out in front talking to two guys in an Escalade and turned as he started going by, recognizing his car. :P So, we had to stop and we chatted for a bit.
The chick told us we were all doing shots... yeah, that was gonna happen. The two in the Escalade downed their's in a second and she handed one to another girl that was there and another to my friend before trying to give one to me. I told her I didn't drink. She said, "Common, this one has your name on it." I simply kept repeating "I don't drink," until she gave up, though in my mind I was thinking, "You don't want to try making me take that, I would put a knife through your skull in a second before I would *EVER* think of even letting a drop of alcohol into my mouth." But yeah, my friend tried to down the shot, but he doesn't drink, and it was a freaking huge shot glass, filled almost to the top with almost pure Vodka, so most of all of it came right back out onto his shirt and the ground. He went inside with her and she made a smaller, apparently sweeter-tasting shot that he was able to get down (he said he'd do one for her birthday). We left after a little bit and they kept telling us we had to come back later. Well, she called him later that night, VERY drunk, like, so drunk that after ten minutes on the phone she forgot she was talking to him and left it there and her cousin had to pick it up and talk to my friend. They said they wanted us down there, he didn't really want to go back, but we did anyway, figured it'd be good for stuff to talk about later. Ooooooh, boy-howdy were we right. We got there and a lot more than just the 4 people + her mom who had been there earlier had shown up. It was around 10:30 at night. She came out of the house, looked at my friend and said, "Who the fuck are you?!" then he told her his name and she responded "Oooooooh," and stumble-ran over to him half-falling into him and almost knocking him over as she hugged him. She was standing around talking for a bit, but was so drunk she kept staggering left and right all the time, nearly falling down quite a few times. Her mom was wasted as well and the two of them got into a huge fight, yelling at each other shouting "Fuck you!" and "You, are a whore!" to each other before she left foe inside the house, where she commenced vomiting for the next hour before passing out.
Everyone else was drunk off their ass as well, aside from me and my friend. People kept coming up to us offering us beer, cigarettes, and a couple not so normal things as well. Met some cool people, even though they were all pretty wasted, Jimmy, Josh, one guy whose name I don't remember (I'll say Andy for simplicity's sake, it sounds familiar), and a fourth whose name we never really got. Josh was the most sober-seeming of all of them. He could at least stand up straight, and talked rather coherently. Though he had to ask us our names every five minutes cause he kept forgetting. Andy was the craziest. Some of the others with him picked him up and held him upside down to drink out of the keg. Standing him back up after that... he fell right on his ass. We were all standing in a circle talking and Andy started up, "Hey, how about we all go sit down, before I fall on my ass?" I pointed out a chair to him and he hobbled over to it and dragged it back to the circle before sitting down. "Hey, where's my car?" "Wait, where the hell are my keys?" escaped his lips at least every ten minutes as he sat there. Josh had taken his keys earlier upon Andy's request. "I don't even like her, but I'll stick it in her," was yet another of his witticisms of the night referring to some girl he had no idea who it was that Josh and the guy we didn't get the name of were talking about. At one point he stood up from the chair, began to walk forward... and ended up making a circle around the two aforementioned individuals, falling right back into the chair. Josh dropped something on the ground at one point and Andy leapt forward to grab it before jumping back in the chair, only to fall over backwards in it. He laid there for over 15 minutes, rubbing his head after 10, apparently just then figuring out that it hurt. He laid on the ground a lot more after that, saying that it felt very comfy. Later on he popped up right in front of Josh, who responded, "Andy, where did you come from?" To which Andy said nothing for a few seconds before replying "I don't remember..."
Later, as he was sitting in the chair, the chick's mother came out saying something about cops. To which Andy replied, "The cops?! I have to get out of here," and started hopping forward in the chair before some of the other people were able to calm him down. He kept asking people if they knew how to drive a stick (his car) but then would also keep saying that "No one drives his car, but him." That isn't even mentioning the next door neighbors, about 4 fat white guys carry 12 packs of beer into their house between shouting over at all of us something akin to "ARrgh Youghh Harrf Rreeer Rabbbleeeerabble grooorrr!" multiple times throughout the night. We ended up leaving around midnight, needless to say, it was quite the entertaining party.

July 2nd - George Thorogood and the Destroyers - They put on a good concert. They had been here only a couple years ago, so it wasn't anything new and wasn't terribly exciting, but it was still an entertaining concert and they played all their really good songs and played for quite a long time.

July 3rd - Daughtry - The guy from American Idol the year before last that was a rocker and had had a CD at the top of the charts for almost a year now. For what he did he put on a good show, his voice was very good and they played a bunch of good songs. However, the stupid prick didn't even play for a full hour. Talk about not caring about your fans.

July 4th - The Wailers (aka Bob Marley's old band) and Humphry's McGee - The Wailers were excellent. They had a good jam going the entire time, played most of their big hits and some new stuff, and even sounded good despite the fact that Bob Marley isn't singing for them now. Humphry's McGee I had not heard of till only days before the concert. A progressive rock/jam band that sounds a lot like The Explorer's Club. They put on a very good show as well, jamming constantly for an hour and a half straight, playing through the fireworks, and then coming out for an encore after.

July 6th - B. B. King - The Blues legend himself lived up to his reputation. He played some great songs and still has a good set of lungs on him for an 81 year old. He strummed out some killer beats on Lucile as well, and even though he only played slightly over and hour, it's understandable with his age. He also broke out some very amusing anecdotes between songs. Al-in-all an awesome concert.

July 7th - INXS - A band I hadn't heard the name of before. Apparently they had a reality TV show a while back to choose a new lead singer after the last on died. I was thoroughly surprised with how well they sounded. The guy had an amazing voice, despite the fact that he did drink and smoke the entire time he was up there. The had quite a few songs I actually knew and played everything well, and played for a good long time.

July 8th - Troll for Trout and The New Cars - Troll for Trout was awesome. They are a local band that I saw when they were at the Summer Celebration 8 years ago, and bought their CD then. They have 3 more CDs out now, but I lack money so I couldn't get any of them. But they rocked out on stage for a solid hour and a half, sounded great, and I really enjoyed them. Then there was The New Cars. This was basically my highlight of the entire celebration. If you don't know, The New Cars is basically The Cars (if you don't know who The Cars are, look it up because you already fail. They only have about 20 hit songs out) but with Todd Rundgren as their new lead singer. Todd Rundgren is an *AMAZING* artist and I've wanted to see him in concert for years now, and to see him with The Cars as their singer was just amazing. You will listen to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg19Ruw0tVU by Rundgren, my favorite of his with another good one being: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRNDkz8DUcg . We typically sit about halfway alway from the stage (probably around 175-200 feet from the stage), but for them I went up and stood in the front, managed to just to the third row of people, equal in distance to a second row center seat if there were seats. I stayed up there and rocked out all night while they played Cars and some Rundgren stuff up there and it all sounded awesome. They played for a good long time, and into the fireworks display. It was just awesome.

Oh, I also discovered Three Days Grace. Awesome fucking band. Youtube them, listen to their stuff. Love it. "Pain," "Home," "Animal I've Become," "Time of Dying," "Get Out Alive," "Over and Over," "Gone Forever," "One-X," "(I hate) Everything About you," and "Let it Die" are ALL amazing songs.

Well, that's about it, back to boredom for now.

Well, I've been on a little spending spree as of late. A couple days ago I bought three video games on Gamestop, though it only cost me $50. I purchased Fatal Frame II, La Pucelle: Tactics, and Way of the Samurai.

We are playing Fatal Frame II when I get back up there, Nick. :P

I've actually never played Way of the Samurai or La Pucelle, but I've played and owned Way of the Samurai 2 and love it, and it is rated lower than WOTS, so it should be fun. La Pucelle was made by a company that has made other tactical RPGs I've liked, so I should enjoy it as well. Fatal Frame II is a nice, scary-as-hell game that you don't want to play when the lights are off, so it should be fun as well. :P

I also purchased 2 new Godzilla DVDs. I bought both, Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster, and Godzilla vs. Monster Zero. Cost me about another $30 for those. Won't be getting them for a while though, as they aren't released until June 5. I've never seen Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster before, so it should be fun to watch. :)

Finally, I just drove out to Best Buy today and bought Minutes to Midnight, Linkin Park's new CD. It's good. If you aren't someone who listened to and liked all the songs on the previous 2 CDs, you'll like this one, if you are, well, it's mixed.
The CD is definitely a grower for any Linkin Park fans. You'll be hit with a *major* surprise when you pop it in. People by LP CDs expecting that every song they'll be head-banging, jumping all around the room screaming their lungs out in time to the music before their voice eventually gives out, they pass out from exhaustion, and the cops that the neighbors phoned earlier show up at the door responding to a noise violation. This CD isn't like that.
There are probably 4 of the 12 on this CD that fit the above description. The rest, most are slow, melodic ballad type songs. They are all very very good songs, but Linkin Park fans psyched up for the above will be left going "WTF?" to most of the songs on this CD. I personally disliked about 5 of the songs on the CD the first time I listened to it. After listening to it a second time, there are only 2 or 3 that I don't find that great: "Shadow of the Day," "In Between," and maybe "The Little Things Give You Away."
It is a very political album, just like Green Day's American Idiot as well, but only 2 or 3 of the songs are really really blatant, two of those songs being two of the best on the CD.
All in all I like it and am liking it more and more as I keep listening to it.

I really need to get a job, my wallet is thinning. >.>

Little Physics Bastard!!!

  • May. 8th, 2007 at 5:56 PM

So, I'm slowly but surely getting my grades back for my 4th semester at college. So far I haven't received grades in my IAH class (hoping for a 4.0) or my Organic Chemistry (praying I don't get lower than a 3.0). I do however have my grades for Physics II Lab, Biology II, and Physics II. Physics II Lab was a 4.0, that was going to be a no-brainer. That class is so easy it is basically impossible to not get a 4.0.
Then there was Physics II and Biology II.
I was pretty sure I was getting 3.5 in both, the 4.0 cut-off being a 90%. I had ended up with a 89.9% in Physics II and an 89.3% in Biology II. So, I get my grades back for both in the last couple days... 3.5 in Physics, 4.0 in Bio. ...What the fuck?!
Remember, the physics percentage was *HIGHER* than the Bio percentage, but I got a 3.5 in the class I was 0.1% away from a 4.0 and a 4.0 in the class I was 0.7% away from a 4.0. This got me really pissed off at my physics professor. My Bio professors could bump me up over half a percent but that little fuck couldn't bump me 0.1 freaking percent?!?
Well, because of him, I cannot get a 3.5 this semester for my overall GPA. Granted, even with a 4.0 in Physics I'd still need a 4.0 in Organic Chemistry to get a 3.508 for my overall GPA this semester, but there is still about a 2% chance of that.

At any rate, my physics prof. is now and for the rest of time to be known as the Little Physics Bastard for being a worthless little whore in grading.
